The Nokia 2
India launch event has started, an event that added the cheapest Nokia
phone yet in HMD Global's portfolio. The highlights of the Nokia 2
include the 4100mAh battery that offers up to 2 days of life and premium
design, the company said. It is a low-end smartphone that will compete
against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4A and Moto C,
being positioned below the Nokia 3. As for the Nokia 2 price in India,
it has not been leaked yet. But with the key announcements just a few

HMD Global CEO Florian Sieche then took over and did a rundown of the company's journey over the past 11 months. He spoke about the brand's focus on customer satisfaction, and how high it scores on the index. It was also revealed that there will be 1,00,000 offline stores where Nokia phones will be sold. Sieche said India is among the top 3 markets for the company in terms of sales.
Nokia 2 specifications are in line with the recent Antutu leak, such as a 5-inch LTPS HD (720x1280 pixels) resolution display, and comes in three colour options: Copper Black, Pewter Black, and Pewter White. Further, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 SoC, the successor to the Snapdragon 210; it is designed as an entry-level offering with four cores of ARM Cortex-A7 CPU at a maximum clock speed of 1.3GHz. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system at launch, and will get Oreo update soon.
Apart from the quad-core processor, the Snapdragon 212 SoC has Adreno 304 GPU and is accompanied by 1GB of RAM on the Nokia 2. Besides, the upcoming Nokia smartphone is listed with 5-megapixel and 8-megapixel camera sensors that are likely to be available on its front and back, respectively. Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global said the company has ensured the photos are optimised for the best possible effect. The handset will come with Google Assistant, the first one with the digital assistant in its price segment.
